Stuck for girl ideas

We've just found out we're expecting a girl after 2 boys and a long gap. We just can't think of any names. I love loads of the standard names (Charlotte, Lucy, Rebecca etc), but DH is really picky. He says it needs to be something special, beautiful and fit for a princess.
The only name he likes so far is Aurelia. I like it, but don't quite love it. I'm worried it might be a bit pretentious? So I'm looking for suggestions please that are maybe a bit shorter but equally beautiful.

Without meaning to offend anyone this is his list of name types to avoid:
-hyphenated names
-old lady names
-American names
-names ending in belle/bella

Sounds pretty hopeless to me! Any suggestions that fit his silly list of requirements very much appreciated! Thank you xxx

@NapQueen I do like Aurelia too, just torn. Would love a few more to choose from but have no imagination. Plus our surname starts with an E so when you put them together it's tempting to add in an 'r' sounds between the names... not that this really matters Smile

All I can think of are Disney princesses - Aurora, Elsa, Jasmine, Tiana, Merida...! I have to say, I do like Aurelia and I don't think it sounds pretentious at all.

I love Aurelia. However it's not clear cut if the e is pronounced e (as in egg) or ee. IMO it should be the former but the latter is the anglicised way.

We had it on our list along with
Genevieve - Evie nn
Penelope
Isla - too popular now
Elsa - this was pre-Frozen
Clara

Frazzled2207 · 24/12/2017 08:16

Ooo another one
Lorelai
(Love this)

Frazzled2207 · 24/12/2017 08:19

Btw i understand what you mean if your surname starts with a vowel. That would put me off a bit.
The Aurelia I know has a very common surname, starting with a consonant, v nice to balance a common surname with a more unusual forename.

Jessica
Emilia
Evangeline
Scarlett
Madeleine
Matilda
Catherine
Eliza
Elodie

Thank you so much everyone. Some gorgeous names. I'll run them past DH.

@Frazzled2207 totally agree with the pronunciation. Our surname is quite unusual, but quite hard sounding (think it's origin is German), so think a soft pretty name might balance it well...

I don’t like Aurelia as it’s a bit fussy to me. Similar to Amelia which I’m also not terribly keen on.

I love Charlotte and Rebecca.
