Matilda vs Adeline

Hi everyone!

First ever post so be kind. Due in 4 weeks and can't decide between Matilda (38mm Tilly) or Adeline (nn Ada) for our girl. What does everyone think? Thanks

My Middle name is Adeline and I love it , not the same I know but I secretly wish my names were the other way round :)

Adeline, it's lovely and Matilda way too popular now.
Personally I prefer Adey as a nickname of you have to shorten it

OP, how about Adeline Matilda ?

Middle name has been chosen for a while as it is a family name. It would be Adeline Rose.

I vote Adeline as that's the name we've chosen (and my best friend who is due the same time as me has chosen Matilda!)
Not to hijack your thread but I'm so relieved Adeline has had such a positive response Also, we're considering the middle name Rose as well...great minds

Adeline, definitely! I have a French SIL, it's her name and she is beautiful and very clever (phd) and somehow manages to do that effortlessly elegant French thing at all times, even with a new born! Plus it's a beautiful name and I know loads of little Matildas.

Also Ada has such brilliant connotations. Ada Lovelace the first programmer and a brilliant mathematician, an inspirational name.
