I know it's really popular but I love it. Don't like Tilly though, could Millie be used as a nn? What are your thoughts? Is it too popular? The other one we like is Tabitha.

Contrary to other posters, I think Matilda is awful. It's overly popular and is a precocious name. Mattie isn't nice

I don't think you know what precocious means if you say that! It's not a very common name either, so your opinion is based on nothing.

Thank you for all your thoughts. I have loved it for ages so annoying it's so much more popular now. Really can't decide between this and Tabitha but have a little while to think about it! Dh likes them equally.

There were just over 1900 registered last year compared to just over 5000 Olivias. Almost exactly 3000 fewer in England and Wales so it must be very regional then!

We are in wales and DD is in year 5 and another Matilda has just joined reception, that’s the first Matilda we’ve come across in real life in 9 years apart from a step sibling (of sorts) baby who was born this year in South Africa.
