Does Cecilia suit other names? Or too similar?

Does Cecilia suit names below (not exact sibling names used for privacy)?
Feli
Emilia
Elyssia
Or is it too similar?
This is a name I have always loved, but did not use before as I thought it was too similar with the -lia ending but I adore it so much
Is it that similar that can’t be used? Or can I use it and similarity actually makes it a nice combo.
Love that it is an internationally used name

I’d say it was pretty similar to Emilia/Amelia.

What about Cecily?

Mum8 · 22/12/2017 09:09

Prefer Cecilia, not sure why

I think you can use it. I agree Amelia/Emilia would be too close, but Cecilia and Emilia are fine. Really don't like Cecily though.

villamariavintrapp · 22/12/2017 11:43

I don't understand, are those three your existing children? If so I think Cecilia and Elyssia are too similar sounding.

froshiechipandbrickie · 22/12/2017 14:51

Feli, Emilia and Cecilia sounds fine imo.

Feli, Emilia, Elyssia and Cecilia...? Elyssia and Cecilia are too similar imo.
What about Cordelia, Selina/Celina, Serena or Carolina?

froshiechipandbrickie · 22/12/2017 14:54

Btw, Cecilia and ‘Elyssia’ would be fine if your DD is actually called Alicia (without the sh) or Alyssa. (just a guess, I’m obviously not expecting an answer.)

The name is more like LEE-See-A in sound so with Cecilia I can see how this can be a bit similar but could I still use it without any issues? I love Cecilia so much and after trying to find other names I keep going back to it...

@Mum8, of course you can use it, call your children the names you love, they are all individuals. It's not as if you are naming them Gina, Lena and Nina, or Molly, Polly and Holly. Cecilia is a beautiful name.😄

Mum8 · 22/12/2017 22:05

Thank you Sugarpiehoneyeye ☺️ yes love your thinking and ways of explaining why it is fine, no not that similar 😁

Lee-see-a and Cecilia would work imo.

Especially because your other children (“Feli” and “Amelia”) have rather different names.

XmasTreeOhXmasTree · 22/12/2017 22:09

They don't go. I wouldn't do it.

Whilst your children will be their own people and as they get older they'll spend a lot of time without their siblings, it just sounds silly to have an Elyssia and a Cecilia.

Buntysoven · 22/12/2017 22:48

I don't personally see the problem. I'm either saying the names wrong or a bit thick 😂

Joeybee · 22/12/2017 22:55

Cecilia is a fantastic name. It is a bit too similar to Amelia/Emelia I think, but works with the other names fine.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 23/12/2017 11:55

I prefer Cecily. It's less harsh than Cecelia.

deptfordgirl · 23/12/2017 13:29

Cecilia is lovely. It's difficult to know without knowing the real sibling names but if you love it go for it.

Mclaren37 · 24/12/2017 03:19

Love Cecilia. I think it's too similar to Amelia and personally wouldn't go with another 'elia' ending. But the others sound fine to me.
(I've never understood the argument that it doesn't matter what your children's names sound like 'together'. Yes they are individual humans BUT as a parent you really do spend the first 15 years of their life saying their names together).
