So I'm in love with Talia as a name for my first born but my brother just had daughter named Taylor... he said it's fine to call mine Talia but it's playing on my mind.... are they too similar? It's the only name we both like..
Talia Elsie Murray

It's fine for cousins.

And Talia is much nicer than Taylor Wink

LoveInTokyo · 19/12/2017 23:43

You could go with "Natalia" and then shorten it?

ChocolateCrunch · 20/12/2017 07:14

I think it's fine to still go with Talia. Agree with pp, Talia is far nicer than Taylor!

Talita
Talissa
Tianna
Tyra

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/12/2017 09:49

It's fine OP.😄

laramumofboys · 31/12/2017 12:55

If it's any help my niece is called Lexi and my son is called Alexander, so we have Alex and Lexi and it's fine!

horatioisabrick · 31/12/2017 13:11

I’m currently wondering whether Cecilia and Clarissa are too similar (for sister) but Taylor and Talia are cousins... that’s perfectly fine imo.

(Btw, Natalia is a lovely suggestion imo...)

horatioisabrick · 31/12/2017 13:12

Talia really is nicer than Taylor imo... Wink

BackforGood · 31/12/2017 13:28

Think it depends on how close they are. If you live down the rod from your brother and they will go to all the same activities together, etc., it might make sense to change. If you will get together once a year at Christmas, everyone would probably cope without problem.

*road, not rod Grin

PinkAvocado · 31/12/2017 13:35

I think absolutely fine. I wouldn’t call siblings Talia and Taylor but that’s all (also dislike the name Taylor and especially for a girl).

Ummmmgogo · 31/12/2017 13:36

its fine. talia is a lovely name

bluelarkx · 31/12/2017 15:20

Some names that aren't so similar but have the same feel:
Elia
Alia
Dahlia
Adalia (ad-ahl-ia)

But Talia is beautiful and not too similar I think personally x

Yika · 31/12/2017 15:57

Talia is lovely and not too similar to Taylor.

What about Tamara?

euanthesheepiloveyou · 31/12/2017 16:44

In my accent they're very different. I'd go for it...lovely name.

AnyaMoondial · 01/01/2018 08:31

Oh my goodness, go with Talia, you'll be so annoyed with yourself if you don't. Plus it's awesome Smile
