Honestly, would Wilfred be teased?

I love it but have had a couple of reactions when I’ve mentioned it as a possibility!

It was on our shortlist but to be honest I think we liked the options for shortenings more than the actual name. I do really like it but I did wonder if he would thank me for being a teenage Wilfred, to be honest. But as PPs have said, it's definitely being used as a name fairly regularly so it probably won't be an issue.

It's horrible. But I don't think children are bullied for their names unless they are very obviously something "rude"......

Wilfred is okay. Of the others on your list, Isaac is very popular. I don’t like Nicholas (but not for any good reason). Charles is good and underused. Do you like Charlie? He’s likely to be called it at some point.

My baby took quite a shine to a little Wilf at baby groups. I thought it was a cute name.

I like it. Didn't the unmumsy mum recently have a baby Wilf? I think it's considered trendy where I am. I also know a young Cyril and like this. He's not bullied either.

I don't like Wilfred, sorry. The only teasable aspect might be the Will(y) part.

I think it's great. A bit different and could have nickname Will, Fred or Freddie.

I can't see how Wilfred would be teased. There are many many more names out there with teasing potential. Wilfred can be nn to Will or Fred too...names which definitely wouldn't attract negative attention.

It's nice. Similar to William and a William could be bullied for being a 'Willy' and I'm sure this rarely happens.

Wilf is cute. Maybe a dog's name though.

I've just seen that someone said it's a drippy name.

There are far more drippy names out there and some are in the top 50.
