It's a fluffy, cutesy, girlie name which would suit a toddler, not so much a 40 something woman

My feelings exactly.

franktheskank · 09/12/2017 22:49

I can see your point but people do tend to grow into their names and my other daughters are Tabitha and posy so I lost the game of serious names a long time ago 😂

I love it and am seriously considering it for dc3 but its not a grown up name is it?

squaresandsquares · 10/12/2017 10:25

I know 3! 7,6,5

squaresandsquares · 10/12/2017 10:27

And I love it

NinonDeLenclos · 10/12/2017 13:27

I used to love it, but it's now massively popular.

FartnissEverbeans · 10/12/2017 14:56

I love it! I kind of agree that it doesn't sound very 'grown up' but all her peers are going to be called Effie and Miley and Maisie so I don't think it'll be that much of an issue.

Tally is a cool nickname

TheVanguardSix · 10/12/2017 14:58

I love it! One of my faves.

I agree with others in thinking that it's an awful fluffy, cutesy sort of name. But then I'd feel the same about Tabitha and Posy (hope that doesn't offend too much), so I'm probably just very out of step with your naming tastes. I feel Tallulah has a bit of a sexual sound to it as well that I don't like imposing on someone - maybe she'll be a nun Grin

ImogenHeat · 10/12/2017 21:17

I can't imagine having a boss, for example, called Tallulah and taking her seriously. I'm sure there would be a lot of mick-taking.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 10/12/2017 21:28

I find it ridiculous.

OhChill · 10/12/2017 21:39

I know one. I think it’s horrible, (sorry). It’s just the sound of it.

I do love Bugsy Malone though and always wanted to be Tallulah when I watched it when I was little! That doesn’t make it a pleasant sound though.

SantaStuckInTheChimney · 10/12/2017 21:45

I love it but am not sure whether I would use it . I've met some precocious Tallulahs.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/12/2017 21:47

I love Tabitha and Tallulah. She can be Talli or Lu . oooh
Tabby and Talli and Posy too
Took their Mum on a tip to the zoo!

It writes the opening lines to a kids book, what's not to love!

pilates · 10/12/2017 21:56

Sorry it makes me think of a stripper

LadyPug · 10/12/2017 23:49

What about Tula? I know of a Tula and think it’s such a beautiful and unusual name!

SleepingStandingUp · 11/12/2017 00:31

Oh Tula is cute. I want a baby.

NumbersLetters · 11/12/2017 00:36

I love Penelope. Love it.

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 11/12/2017 00:45

franktheskank · 11/12/2017 01:24

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 11/12/2017 07:31

We use all of them! My niece is Penelope Grin

OhChill · 11/12/2017 08:00

Penelope is lovely.

jellycat1 · 11/12/2017 08:03

LOVE it. Peter Jones (dragons den) has one! I was reading his bio when preggers with DS2 and told dh that was my girl's name! He wasn't on board and then we had a boy anyway.

chocatoo · 11/12/2017 08:05

I prefer Kitty or Penelope. I like Penelope best and think it's sweet when shortened to Penny, also suitable for a child and an adult. Altho I like Tallulah, not sure if it sounds a bit pompous...I like Lula tho.
