Philomena?

I'd love any opinions, thoughts or alternative suggestions. Surname is Gator and other possible names include Genevieve, Margot and Allegra (though most likely not Allegra due to the Ally-Gator issue).
I also like (but husband dislikes) Araminta. Big sister is Ottilie.

Help!

Genevieve the french or english way? I prefer the former.

I quite like Philomena but it was my great grandmothers name. She was always known as Minnie though and Minnie Gator wouldn't be good!

I love Margot, especially with Ottilie.

Wow. what lovely names. I really like Philomena and Genevieve.

I agree with PP - a name ending in a consonant would sound much better!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/12/2017 18:16

Genevieve is by far the nicest out of an horrendous bunch, sorry

NinonDeLenclos · 09/12/2017 14:06

I like Araminta best. Philomena is a mouthful.

Philomena is awful. Sorry, I’m being as polite as I can, but it was the name of very old Irish Catholic nuns when I was at school.

Even the sounds are horrible. Sad

Not keen myself, and the obvious shortening of Phil' is definitely thought of as a boy's name which is going to cause confusion.
