Honest opinions on Shay for a baby girl please

It's usually spelt Che and usually a boys name

It's a boys name.

I instantly think of GoT when I think of a girl called Shay. I don’t want to spoil GoT for anyone though, so won’t say if it’s a good or bad association!

I know an adult woman called Shay - I think it's fine as a name

I know also know an adult Shay. Great person, great name!

Shayla is nice. Shay on its own not so much.

Popular in Ireland but I feel more for a boy.

I know a Shea who is Indian and it suits her but until I just remembered that I would have thought Shay was a boys’ name and not one I would choose.

I kind of like it actually. (Never seen GoT!). I know a guy (adult) Shay but still I find it quite nice for a girl.

I haven't seen game of thrones but I have heard there is a Shay in it so could understand that association for people. I knew the male version was Shae and Irish of origin but thanks for the extra info

I know of a few shays over the years always shortened from seamus. In my dd class there's a girl called Shaylyn unusual and pretty I think and you still get the shay bit!

Our daughters middle name is Shea. So obviously we like it lol.

Please google the character, both book and TV, you may very well think differently about the name. Sorry but that's the first thing I thought of with this name.
