My husband likes Arlo for a boys name. I think I like it but it’s fairly unusual in comparison to the other names we are considering. What do you think of it? I think it’s a bit of a cartoon character name?!

It’s an ancient Saxon name meaning ‘fortified hill’ and was made famous in the seventies by Woodside Guthrie naming his son Arlo.

I like the name but have seen it mentioned in the press etc as being typically 'hipster'. I think it was in a list alongside beards and mason jars. Shame as I would have considered it too!
