Or neither?

My only reservation about these names is that I think they could seem dated on a baby born soonish, (I’m due in January). Dh seems to like names he’s familiar with (so a bit dated) but which aren’t too popular in this generation or in our generation (80s babies). These are the only two I like.

Due to potential datedness, I am thinking of giving the baby a more current middle name, in case he hates his first name and wants to use his middle name. Any ideas for that much appreciated.

I have a Christopher John, so am biased but also like Peter but as pp not keen on Pete, when Ds was little we called him Christie.

I like Peter much more than Christopher.

I do think that both names are dated.

I prefer James, Jack or Matthew. I like to use a family name for a middle name. Have you got any nice father/grandfather/uncle names?

I think Peter is looking more likely. If Dh doesn’t want Kit and I don’t want Chris it’s probably not a great choice.

There are a few others on the list which Dh is happy enough with and others he dislikes. But he really doesn’t love any boy names, I don’t think. He really dislikes my favourites, so I think we’re going to end up compromising and choosing something we both are fine with but neither of us loves.
