Nothing wrong with old man names - it's not an old man name yet though. It's a middle aged name in the UK.

Names don't come back around until the previous generation they're associated with is over 80, possibly 90...

Kevin is a very ancient Irish name. To say it's a horrible name is a not like saying Mohammed is a ridiculous name. Would you say that?

I knew a little Kevin when I lived in Edinburgh. He must be about 18 now. He was a nice boy but I’m not at all keen on the name tbh. It also reminds me of the Lionel Schriver book, “we need to talk about kevin”, which isn’t a nice association.

I like it. Also reminds me of Home Alone. I think it's cute. Probably depends on the age of someone how they take it.

We had an au pair called Kevin who is lovely. So now I think if the name fondly.

I really like the name Kevin. I know it's a bit dated, but I just think it has a nice ring to it. I'd totally use this as a middle name to honour an uncle, however my Husband hates the name.

My dad was telling me about how the name Kevin gets the least hits on a dating profile...he's single, and called Kevin (he thought that was hilarious)

Oddly enough, I really have got a cousin called Kevin just like in the song. He's a bit of a twat, but harmless enough.

I reckon it's only in the US that it's still a fairly normal name. Here in U.K it's just a very naff name.

My DP had an old works van that he used to call Keith. No idea why.

It's still okay in the North East. Kevin Keegan still retains legend status...
