What are the names of the last five babies born that you know/heard of? (I don't think I've worded that right but you get my jist) looking for a bit of inspiration.

Edric, (I think - I don’t know the mum very well and only asked his name in passing, so could have misheard Eric or Cedric)!

How interesting. Often when someone posts a thread re baby names, you get tons of posters claiming names are ‘too common’ and that they know thousands of children called Isla, Amelia, Eva, Olivia, Noah and Oliver yet there are hardly any on here.

BernardBlacksHangover · 14/11/2017 09:40

True evil! I do know loads of Noahs, Olivers, Olivias and Florences though. They just aren’t the last babies born. I think Freddie is becoming more popular as I know two under 1yo. If Harrison and Harry are in the same bracket, I also know two under 1yo.

pipilangstrumpf · 14/11/2017 09:51

I was wondering the same, evil. Maybe people can remember the more memorable names better so post these.

BernardBlacksHangover · 14/11/2017 09:53

Also, I think people, (especially MNetters if the baby names board is anything to go by), do avoid the “too popular” names after a few years of them being popular. I haven’t heard of a Noah, Amelia or Oliver being born recently. Weird though, as somebody must be using the names to keep them in the top ten!

I can’t believe how many ‘Arthurs’ there are! When we got our Arthur 4 years ago it wasn’t that up there.. seems to have become very popular lately

Marta
Fionnuala
Reeva
Alfred

I really am not keen on Reeva. Marta and Fionnuala are names reflecting the heritage of their parents (so that's ok!) I love love love Robert. Find Alfred a bit 'meh' (freddie/alfie are very common around these parts)
