Autumn as a baby name

I'm really loving this name for my bump. I was just wondering if anyone has experience of this name in the UK and how it 'goes down'. I think it is beautiful but don't want to 'impose' something awful on my baby daughter. I don't know any in RL at all. Thanks all

It has increased in popularity in recent years, and is at around 150 in the ONS rankings now, so it won't be unheard of for this generation of babies. Not super common though. I like it, I think it's a very nice name.

AnyaMoondial · 06/11/2017 17:14

I like it Smile

Mrsknackered · 06/11/2017 17:36

I'm not fussed about Autumn, tbh. I wouldn't choose it myself, but I don't have any ill feelings towards the name!

HenryBiggleswade · 06/11/2017 17:39

I have a 4 year old Autumn. It’s a lot more heard of now then it was 4 years ago, she gets complimented on her name a lot now Smile

Ohyesiam · 06/11/2017 17:43

Very pretty. I only know one, who is about 7

RedBlackberries · 06/11/2017 17:45

I think it's lovely but sounds a bit American (not that that's a bad thing)!

Beek84 · 06/11/2017 17:45

I like it op - and I don't think it's too 'out there' that it invites ridicule

ChocolateCrunch · 06/11/2017 17:50

I like it

Afreshstartplease · 06/11/2017 17:51

Love it. I like "Au" starting names in general tbh

PinkFlamingo888 · 06/11/2017 18:15

It’s pretty when I’ve just said it to myself in my head. I wouldn’t have thought about using it myself but I prefer it to Summer

BingBunnyTheBrat · 06/11/2017 18:36

I loovveeeeee it! I would use it if it 'matched' my DD's name❤️

BabloHoney · 06/11/2017 20:00

I love it but my other half wasn’t keen at all.. we were actually discussing it as a name with a group of friends a while ago and the women all liked it and none of the men did!

Rockandrollwithit · 06/11/2017 20:01

Love it. DS2 was born in Sept and if he was a girl, Autumn was on our short list.

I don't like it, but it wouldn't raise any eyebrows.

GoodMorning1 · 06/11/2017 20:18

Love it

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 06/11/2017 20:19

I think it's really pretty

iamdazedandconfused · 06/11/2017 20:20

Love it Smile

Fishfingersandwichnocheese · 06/11/2017 20:21

I love it.

It's also my favourite season.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 06/11/2017 20:23

I know you didn't mean it that way when you wrote the post, but it's not just a Baby name, is it? She'll have it for the rest of her life. I think there's a tendency to focus on "sweet" names for children that might not work so well when they grow up.
It's a nice name but I'd probably internally eyeroll a bit if I met an adult called Autumn.

RoganJosh · 06/11/2017 20:25

Oh I think it’s good for an adult. Better than Summer, for example.

stellarfox · 06/11/2017 21:18

I’ve not met one but although I think it’s quite sweet I am not sure what it would be like on an adult. However I might change my mind if I met one IRL! If you love it why not

Smoliver · 06/11/2017 22:32

I really like this name.

I can't think of any bad associations that could come with this name that would be imposed on your daughter. I just think of autumn colours on the leaves, toffee apples and cosy jumpers - not bad associations in my books!

DeadDoorpost · 08/11/2017 22:43

I've got a really good friend called Autumn. I love the name.

NachoFries · 09/11/2017 15:27

Love it Easter Smile
