Hello

Just found out I’m having identical twins! We have boy names ready and decided upon we love Sienna for a little girl but need a name for the other baby if they are girls.

We like Savannah but aren’t sure if it’s too similar. We also like Sophia but I’m not sure if either are quite right for us.

Our surname is Brown so quite boring!

Thank you all x

I like Aurora as a P.O. mentioned it was my first thought!
Or Aria

ilovevenice · 06/11/2017 23:34

How about Siena with a single n instead, ie after the beautiful city in Italy? I have a friend with a daughter called that.
You could then call the other twin Florence Wink

beepboopbeep · 06/11/2017 23:35

Sienna Miller's sister is called Savannah

HettyB · 09/11/2017 18:26

I wouldn’t go for Sienna with brown.

I also wouldn’t pair Isobel and Eliza together as they’re both derivatives of Elizabeth.

What about:
Eliza and May
Eliza and Kate
Eliza and Beatrice
Eliza and Imogen
Eliza and Annabel

Isobel and Naomi
Isobel and Jemima
Isobel and Beatrice
Isobel and Florence
Isobel and Felicity
Isobel and Saskia

Themummy76 · 09/11/2017 18:44

Please don’t go for the same initials - it’ll be a lifetime of confusion over post, registers, banks, doctors etc
Mr e brown and mr e brown
Miss S brown and miss S brown

You couldn’t even initial their clothes like other parents could ‘EB’ and ‘EB2’?!

Themummy76 · 09/11/2017 18:45

Is Siena and Isobel are nice together

Themummy76 · 09/11/2017 18:46

Ps not is!

Crunchymum · 11/11/2017 09:40

Sienna Miller's sister is Savannah.

They are just about doable as sibling names but way ott for twins. I think your boys names are very 'matchy / try too hard' as well. Sorry.

I think identical twins need a little bit of individuality, considering they will spend their whole childhood as "the twins" and be treated as one person by lots (think joint gifts etc....)

Give them their own names.

SoMuchToBits · 11/11/2017 09:44

Don't do the matchy thing! I speak as an identical twin with a sister who has a name beginning with the same letter as mine.

It's hard enough for people to treat you as individuals anyway, and much harder if you have "matchy" names!

Misslemon01 · 11/11/2017 09:45

I love Sienna and Savannah, but I think that’s a celebrity pair of sisters. If you’re not bothered by that, definitely go for it! Or what about Sophia, or Irish Saoirse

Yika · 11/11/2017 10:17

Savannah and Raven
Eliza and Stella
Isobel and Edith

Jenniferb21 · 11/11/2017 16:50

I’m more lost than ever I didn’t know Isobel was from Elizabeth Grin what an idiot I am. I also didn’t think Elijah and Ezekiel were too match’s apart from the E I thought they were both individually strong biblical names. I love them equally I duno what one id drop.

For girls maybe I need a new name for Isobel nothing too old school I quite like unusual names or not that common should I say because my name is unusual x

I actually think Sienna and Savannah together are fine. As are Eliza and Isobel. They may have a common etymology but they are quite distinct names now. (But I see I'm in a minority.)

Elijah and Ezekiel are also lovely, please don't doubt them, they are not matchy.

What about Isolde, Iseult instead of Isobel?

Eliza and Cassandra
Eliza and Serena
Eliza and Imogen

holidayqueriwifi · 11/11/2017 21:18

You do know that Isobel whilst a nice name has been done to the point of boredom and beyond for years now? We have 8 variations in our close circle. Maybe India to go with Siena if you're doing place names?

holidayqueriwifi · 11/11/2017 21:20

Or Eliza and India?
Eliza and Stella

Buntysoven · 11/11/2017 22:43

Eliza and Savannah. Simples!

zeebeedee · 11/11/2017 23:21

Elijah and Ezekiel seem quite similar, but if they end up being Eli and Zeke (quite likely, I think) they go together, but aren't overly matchy.

Eliza and Isobel or Sienna and Savannah don't seem to have any room for manoeuvre to make them less matchy if the twins want more individuality - Liz and Iz? Lizzy and Izzy?, Sie and Sav? (don't really know what shortenings would be possible for those), so maybe one from each pair would work better - Eliza and Savannah?

Sophronia · 12/11/2017 13:11

Eliza and Imogen
Eliza and Felicity
Eliza and Annabel
Eliza and Clara
Eliza and Sophia
Eliza and Susanna
Eliza and Tabitha
Eliza and Ivy
Eliza and Isadora

closetmonster · 14/11/2017 18:18

S and Grace
S and Louise
S and Collette
S and Marley
S and Charlotte
S and Melanie

Zazia · 21/11/2017 18:35

Rayna
Esther
Serena
Beatrice
Julia/Juliette

listsandbudgets · 21/11/2017 18:43

I like Sienna and in fact have a cousin called Sienna. Her sister's are Skye and Sapphire.

However very biased towards Isobel although its a common name at the moment so if you were looking for something unusual perhaps not?

I was going to suggest Sapphire and Juniper - both pretty names but unusual

ermmmmm · 21/11/2017 18:48

Another to say please don't give twins names with the same first letter. Please. I have twins and they would find this intolerable. We did consider giving our twin boys names that had the same meaning. Theodore (Theo) and Nathaniel (Nate or Nat) both meaning gift from god. As it is they have non alliterative but biblical names. Isobel and Sophia work well together and they both have a "s" sound in them without being too matching.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 21/11/2017 19:08

Came here to say Savannah!

Ttbb · 21/11/2017 19:13

Burnt Sienna is one of my favourite paints. Maybe go for another paint colour. Naples yellow is also very nice. Or Permanent Mauve?

Jenijena · 21/11/2017 19:18

Isobel and Sophia are lovely. I think having two separate initials is practically a handy thing, so would rethink the boys names.
