I am 31 weeks pregnant with baby number 3; do not know the sex. Struggling to find a name that seems special enough.

I don't like anything too out there, however I don't want anything too top 10 even though I like the names 🙈

For a boy I've liked Louis for most of my pregnancy but it's started to loose it's appeal, DH also wasn't keen anyway.

For a girl I really like Heidi but not sure if I can use it (a friend has one). I also like Florence and Penelope but not sure I can imagine myself with one if that makes sense.

What other names are there? Feel like I've looked at them all over the years HELP would like a shortlist at least xxx

I would totally use the same name as a friend (will be next year actually), people don’t own names and what’s the big deal? If you think your friend would be upset about it though perhaps speak to him/her about it first, but decide whether you’re doing that to ask permission or just to give them a heads up first.

What other names are there? All of them. Literally billions of names.
Why not just wait and see what the kid looks like when it arrives?

If Heidi is the name you love you should use it. At most you'll experience five minutes of marginal awkwardness when you tell your friend the name but then you have your whole life of enjoying your daughter's name to look forward to 🙂

What about Adelaide, nicknamed Heidi? That's the name Heidi originally derives from. I believe the German version is Adelheid.

Does it really matter if you and your friend use the same name, especially if it is a more common name - not like she owns the rights to it...

I've a little 8 week old Penelope. I couldnt imagine myself with one either by DH loved the name and I went with it. It's grown on me ever since and I've had so many lovely comments about it.
