Arry-Ann

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 18/10/2017 23:00
Hmm
W0rriedMum · 18/10/2017 23:00

Generally pronounced AR-Y-EN

QueuetoaskaQ · 18/10/2017 23:01

Arry-Ann

LovingLola · 18/10/2017 23:01

You don't plan to call a child Aryan????

glovesonstrings · 18/10/2017 23:01

I'd assume Arian. Like the race the Nazis thought superior? Is it a name?

AppalachianWalzing · 18/10/2017 23:01

'That child with the racist parents'

Wolfiefan · 18/10/2017 23:02

As in nation?
Um. I wouldn't.

reallybadidea · 18/10/2017 23:02

You seriously can't call a child Aryan, however you pronounce it.

Pastacube · 18/10/2017 23:02

do you mean aaron?

RidingWindhorses · 18/10/2017 23:02

Air i en. But you wouldn't unless you wanted Nazism jibes.

Mrsknackered · 18/10/2017 23:02

Oh I duno, maybe like the way Nazi's did/do.

Hmm
Neolara · 18/10/2017 23:02

Because you're thinking of naming your dc "Master-race"?

iBiscuit · 18/10/2017 23:02

Air-ee-an.

It has connotations though. Have you tried Googling?

zozozoo · 18/10/2017 23:02

I think it's nahtz-ee

SueGeneris · 18/10/2017 23:03

There's one at DS2's nursery. I can't remember if I've heard it said out loud. I think I would pronounce it: Ah-reeun Or A-reeun. Am I right?!

li1972 · 18/10/2017 23:03

Arian - welsh, meaning silver (arry-an)
Aryan - Nazi connotations...

ElizabethShaw · 18/10/2017 23:03

The one I've met was Arry-an rather than Air-ee-an.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 18/10/2017 23:04

😮

Liadain · 18/10/2017 23:04

Jaysus, OP. Are you going to have a sibling set of Aryan, Lebensraum, Adolf and Mengele?

Better hope they're blue eyed blondes...

SueGeneris · 18/10/2017 23:05

Also I think the boy at preschool spells it Aaryan.

Icloud54 · 18/10/2017 23:06

Oh my gosh! Did not no it had a link with the nazis. Oops!
I think it's usually spelt Aaryan.
Will not be using the name!

Crikey. Nazis? I think the OP means this name:

SuperBeagle · 18/10/2017 23:08

Arry (like Harry)-en.

Yep, heavily associated with the Nazis and the perceived "Aryan race".

SueGeneris · 18/10/2017 23:08

If it helps it never once crossed my mind when I saw his name. His brother is Zaviyar, which I also like.
