I think we've finally decided on a boys name but have a huge girls list which just seems to get bigger! I think I like too many girls names.

Ds is Jonah.

Which do you like out of:
Bethany
Tabitha
Lydia
Rose
Verity
Matilda
Annabel

And probably more that I can't think of. I have a habit of shortening names so they will inevitably get a nn.

Maybe rose cause it would curb your shortening habit

DarkBlueEyes · 16/10/2017 10:49

Tabitha (I have one, we love it), which gets shortened to Tabs and Tabi
Matilda which I love imn full or as Tilly
Rose, maybe.

but the others aren't for me. We get loads and loads of people positively commenting on Tabitha's name.

Teddy7878 · 16/10/2017 10:50

I love Bethany, Lydia and rose. Don't like the others and definitely not annabell after the recent horror film about the creepy girl who gets possessed by a doll and murders her family.

Mrsknackered · 16/10/2017 10:58

Love Tabitha and Rose.

I dislike Annabel and Bethany.

I do like Matilda but it's recent surge in popularity puts me off

AutumnalLeaves38 · 16/10/2017 11:11

Lydia - underrated, not sure why.
Matilda
Bethany

ChocolateCrunch · 16/10/2017 11:18

Tabitha - such a lovely name

DarkBlueEyes · 16/10/2017 11:18

Lydia Dustbin. Just saying. Grin

AnonEvent · 16/10/2017 11:19

Maybe rose cause it would curb your shortening habit didn't work for me, I ended up with a Ro, or indeed, A row row Rosie boat.

PandorasXbox · 16/10/2017 11:26

Tabitha is lovely and I quite like Verity.
Rose and Annabel are nice.

What about Harriet or Arabella?

AutumnalLeaves38 · 16/10/2017 11:46

DarkBlueEyes,

Felix Cited/ Robin Banks haven't put people off Felix or Robin, though, have they?!

Still love Lydia!

manicinsomniac · 16/10/2017 12:18

Like them all except Bethany and Tabitha. Don't dislike those two, just not especially keen.

My favourites are Verity, Matilda and Annabel.

Ionarocks · 16/10/2017 12:27

Oh yes I do love Harriet as well!

Balletmummyxx · 16/10/2017 12:33

My name is Tabitha so I'm biased Wink I get called Tabby and Tabs alot. Also love Rose. How about Tabitha Rose?

BoredOnMatLeave · 16/10/2017 12:38

Ohh I like them all! I would have Lydia but DP not keen

TempsPerdu · 16/10/2017 13:25

Tabitha or Verity for me.

TillyTheTiger · 16/10/2017 13:29

They're all lovely names! That probably doesn't help does it

Liadain · 16/10/2017 13:29

Bethany - I don't mind this one. Not a huge fan of Beth but it's a nice enough name.
Tabitha - cat. Nope.
Lydia - very pretty
Rose - yes! Love it as a first name.
Verity - great name
Matilda - personally I have only ever known badly behaved ones, so it would be a no from me. Nothing really wrong with it though!
Annabel - fine
Harriet - really dislike

Of your names I like Rose or Verity the most.

WriteMeBiteMe · 16/10/2017 13:32

Ooh Lydia or Verity for me. But it also depends what works with the surname

NikiBabe · 16/10/2017 13:33

Annabel is my favourite

CakeRattleandRoll · 16/10/2017 15:05

Love Tabitha and really like Rose, although would prefer Rosa or Rosanna. Verity is lovely too.

DramaAlpaca · 16/10/2017 15:10

I like them all with the exception of Tabitha, which I don't like at all.

PinkFlamingo888 · 16/10/2017 15:10

I love Matilda best out of those names. I quite like Lydia but have a friend called Lydia who gets Lyd and Lyds a lot and I'm not keen personally.

DarkBlueEyes · 16/10/2017 15:13

Love Tabitha Rose. In fact I wish I'd thought of it! :D

NinonDeLenclos · 16/10/2017 15:27

Rose is classic but it's very over-used. I love Mathilda and Maud is a lovely diminutive.

Ionarocks · 16/10/2017 16:30

Ahh so many different opinions! Maybe I should just wait and meet her (or him!)

Tabitha was my no 1 choice for ages but a few people mentioned it sounds very posh to me recently and it seems to be a bit marmite. Then again, so is Jonah. Does it go with Alice as this will likely be the middle name after a grandparent.
