DH and I love the name Amy for a girl, it's currently top of our list, but we're struggling with a middle name.
I think the name Ophelia goes perfectly and flows really nicely into our 3 syllable surname, but I'm not keen on the origins /story behind the name, she's a bit too tragic. Also it sounds too close to 'I feel ya' which puts me off.
Can anyone suggest anything similar? Our surname ends in an 'ee' sound so we need to avoid that or the name will be too rhymey.

Amy Olivia flows nicely

Cordelia
Ariadne (maybe not great with Amy - depends on surname)
Persephone
Naima (Nye-EE-ma)

I think Amy is a bit dated and Ophelia is better but I know you didn't ask for opinions on that!

It'll be nice to see Amy make a come back, BTW.

Amy Raphaela

Does Amy need to make a comeback? It's a standard, popular enough name where I work (school). It's hardly Prudence or Hortense.

Anyway, Amy Cecelia, Amy Rosanna or Amy Laurel are my suggestions.

Amy Ophelia is lovely.

Phaedra

I thought Amy Aurelia too (I love Amy, by the way!)
If the OP doesn't like the story of Ophelia, I can't see Phaedra going down that well! Shock

Cordelia?

TillyTheTiger · 09/10/2017 21:38

Thanks for the suggestions - I love Cordelia and Aurelia, they're exactly the type of name I'm after.
