Marie, first name

What does everyone think of Marie as a first name, is it too dated?

Are you looking to pronounce it muh-ree or marry?

I'm an early 80's child and inevitably have this as my middle name (it was either that or Louise!!) and pronounce it muh-ree. (Note that my real first name is not Mollie - that's a bit too twee! )

I've noticed that when used as a first name it's oftentimes pronounced "Marry" so is a name I always ask for pronunciation on

I like it and would pronounce it Maree. I prefer Mairi though, pronounced Marry.
