Yes! Lovely name.

MrsMargeSimpson · 02/10/2017 22:35

I know a 7 year old Hermione, she’s lovely.

Alisvolatpropiis · 03/10/2017 00:19

Honestly?

As a first name, no.

It is genuinely astonishing how few people know how to pronounce it and do Confused face upon hearing it.

It's my daughter's middle name and whilst I'm really glad I used a much loved name, I'm also glad it's not her first name

NameChangeFamousFolk · 03/10/2017 00:25

Gorgeous name. I know a little Hermione, nn Mimi.

Jooni · 03/10/2017 07:01

Yes yes yes! I love it!

Smoliver · 03/10/2017 09:43

Yes! I love this name!

wapphighwood · 03/10/2017 13:11

Yes, love it, it is top of my list but we are expecting a boy apparently. What would Hermione's brother be called? Feeling slightly sad we won't be using it unless the scan was wrong

kaytee87 · 03/10/2017 15:03

Makes me think of Harry Potter but it is a nice name.

IMissSmashHits · 03/10/2017 15:05

Yes my DD has this name, I'm surprised that we get very few HP references.

DaenerysismyQueen · 03/10/2017 15:08

Definitely. Also her character is clever, kind and brave in HP. All lovely character traits!

Tigertots · 03/10/2017 15:11

I prefer Helen, the name of the original Hermione's mother.

iogo · 04/10/2017 08:05

In terms of shortening it, my Dd's is just shortened to Mione.

A brother for Hermione is Alexander. 😉

CruCru · 04/10/2017 13:41

I really like it.

FartnissEverbeans · 04/10/2017 17:14

But she might get fed up if someone shouts out ten points to Gryffindor every time she gets a question right in class

I've taught a few Hermiones and I'm sorry to say this has never happened Grin

MrsCaecilius · 04/10/2017 17:20

I love it! Very elegant.
I was at school with one who's nn became Worm (hermy wormy) which is innovative....

bridgetreilly · 04/10/2017 17:50

It's a great name, go for it.

I don't love Mione as a shortened form. I think you might have to be more creative if you want a nickname, but I prefer creative nicknames anyway.

Olivelor · 04/10/2017 17:53

Its a beautiful name and reminds me of Emma Watson. Thinking of the character of Harry Potter, I think its a good name for a girl.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 04/10/2017 18:04

I like it a lot. My first thought is Hermione Granger, and she's a pretty great role model imo.

GinIsIn · 04/10/2017 22:04

I love it! I know one. She's mostly known as Minnie.

Liadain · 04/10/2017 22:06

Personally I wouldn't use it. In about ten years maybe, but right now I still feel it's way too close to Hermione Granger. I feel the same about the trendy Game Of Thrones names.
