Does everyone instantly think of Madeline McCann when hearing the name Madeline? And is that a bad thing?
My husband really likes the name Maddie, and it is growing on me but it feels more like a nickname...

Yes McCann is the first association though McCann was Madeleine.

It doesn't - but then I'm a Madeleine (with an E).

As such, I'm not sure how I feel about these associations ... (not saying any of you can help it). Confused

I really don't think of her when I meet someone else called Madeleine or Maddie. And your daughter's peers certainly won't. It's a lovely name and if you like it, use it.
