What do you think? Mixed reactions from family so far.

I think it's a name coming back into fashion regardless of religion. I've taught two, and both have shortened it to Eli.

Love Elijah

Ffeyone · 24/09/2017 20:09

I have a 12 year old Elijah, Christian but I think it works for any religion. Getting popular now, I know several toddlers called Elijah.

MammieBear · 24/09/2017 20:16

It's a lovely name with a lovely meaning

Mummyoftwo91 · 24/09/2017 20:17

My dh's family is Muslim, bil and sil had a baby called Elijah they are both devout Christian's, fil refuses to call him Elijah and calls him llyas, but fil is also a massive dick, I would use the name, your baby your choice I think it's lovely

HowMmuch · 24/09/2017 20:20

Yaaay, so happy for the positive feedback. We're not devout Muslims but would obviously like something a little Islamic. Thank you

Elijah's very nice, OP. Smile
As is Elias, the Greek form of the Hebrew.

babba2014 · 25/09/2017 05:46

If you're both Muslims I'd for for Ilyaas. It sounds nice.
If you want something that sounds more modern then there's names like Danyaal.

TatianaLarina · 25/09/2017 10:24

Solomon is both Christian and Muslim prophet (Sulaiman)

hanluna · 25/09/2017 20:22

Lovely name.
I also like Samir with Sam/Sammy as NN.
