Opinions on Callie/Cally. I like it as it's relatively normal, easier to pronounce and spell but I don't think it's too popular.

I know a Callie, lovely name 🙂

wavinggoodbyetothewinewitch · 24/09/2017 19:39

I know a Callie, short for Calico Confused

RaininSummer · 24/09/2017 19:46

Nice. Unusual but unpronouncably barking.

RaininSummer · 24/09/2017 20:08

Sorry NOT unpronouncably barking

I love the name
I was a big CSI Miami fan and a few years back we named our puppy Cali
I regretted naming the puppy Cali though as wished I could have used it for our daughter 🙈
Lovely name stand alone and doesn't need to be short for anything.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 24/09/2017 20:17

@FrancisCrawford I like you.

Thanks so much everyone. I wasn't expecting so much love for it. My mind is made up. Hopefully I won't change it before Christmas!

I like it. I know a Catherine who goes by Callie, as well as a Calla.

Auntiedahlia · 24/09/2017 20:37

Wasn't there a Callie in Blake's 7?

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/09/2017 20:40

I really don't like it, but then I work with a Cally who is not nice, so am probably being unreasonable

iggleypiggly · 24/09/2017 20:41

How about Calla? It Means beautiful in Greek Smile

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 24/09/2017 21:00

@Nottalotta YANBU. It's very hard to like a name when you don't like someone who has that name. I once read a quote that said "You don't realise how many people you hate until you're naming a baby"

iggleypiggly I'm not too keen on Calla. It's nice and has a lovely meaning but I've been saying it over and over and I just don't think it's right for me.

It's very pretty OP. I wouldn't use it myself but I do like it, spelt Callie.

Camomila · 25/09/2017 14:08

I like it :) The little Callie I know is Callanthe (like the lily)

ElizaDontlittle · 25/09/2017 14:18

I'd use it as a shortening for something - Caroline/a probably - I really like it!

MammieBear · 25/09/2017 15:14

Calista as full name Callie as Nn.

Lemondrop99 · 25/09/2017 21:21

I really like Callie but got put off by the fact I couldn't find a full name version that I liked (well that and it's turns out I'm having a boy!)
