Florence shortened to Flossie

SadieContrary · 19/09/2017 19:11

On Stella - do you like it because it means Star? If so, Seren is Welsh for Star and I think that's quite pretty

Love Florence but I know of three lovelies called that recently.
Don't know any stellas

Happydays21 · 19/09/2017 19:48

Stella. Although i think there was a porn movie called Stella does Tricks when i was young!

Pemba · 19/09/2017 19:49

I think Stella is lovely. Also like Estella.

I know Florence is very popular at the moment, but I find it a bit frumpy.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 19/09/2017 19:52

Florences are ten a penny. I love the full name but really dislike the shortened Flo. I'd definitely go for Stella.

stabbyjoe · 19/09/2017 19:52

Stella!! I love it and couldn't give a toss about beer. Unfort DH does and said hell no for future daughters ☹️

VioletCharlotte · 19/09/2017 19:52

Florence is really pretty. Stella sounds a bit hard.

3littlebadgers · 19/09/2017 19:56

Florence is sweeter to my ear, but it could be that I teach a little stroppy Stella and all I can picture is a scowling child with her hand on her hip.

BikeRunSki · 19/09/2017 20:00

Stella

Florence is a bit wishy washy to me.

My niece is Stella, the beer puns stopped after about a fortnight (she is a teenager now).

Hullygully · 19/09/2017 20:03

I have little darling twins called Storence and Flella. Both names are always commented upon and they won most sweetly pretty darling twins at the Fliswick fete.

roseloverr · 19/09/2017 20:06

Florence would go better with our surname. Im starting to think i prefer Florence but i do like both Smile

A vote for Florence, gorgeous

Iheartjordanknight · 19/09/2017 20:54

I like both. Florence really isn't that popular- just checked and it was 23rd in 2014 with 2,000 florences. So in the tens of thousands really.

Stella obviously far less common though

craftyfox48 · 19/09/2017 20:57

Love both

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/09/2017 21:09

I adore Stella ! 😄

Smoliver · 21/09/2017 18:27

I prefer Stella because it means Star, which I think is really pretty.

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 21/09/2017 18:39

Love both, but would have Estelle nn Stella.

buttercup54321 · 21/09/2017 23:24

Stella means beer to me.
Florence is nice
Stephanie or Natalie?

glitterlips1 · 22/09/2017 11:49

Florence

FindTheLightSwitchDarren · 22/09/2017 19:07

Florence is lovely, but popular where I live. I don't like Stella very much personally. I'd ignore the popularity and choose the name you like better.

NinonDeLenclos · 22/09/2017 19:26

I know a really cool Stella and I don't drink beer.

I've never been able to stand Florence it's very geeky.
