Can anyone help with a shortlist for DC3, due any day?

I'm 38 weeks with DC3 and where we live (not UK) we have to decide the name pretty much straight away, I think it's within 24 hours. DH and I haven't agreed on any so far and I'm getting nervous (today I'm the same gestation as the day Dc2 was born)!

We don't know if it's a boy or a girl but would like a couple of options for each so we can then decide when we see the baby.

For context, I am British, DH Italian and we live in a third EU country. We generally prefer more unusual European names rather than traditional British, but fairly open.

My current favourite for a girl is Beatrix/ice Elizabeth. I also quite like Benedetta (Beni for short). DH likes Evie but I'm not sold (I think it is too well used in the UK and doesn't go with Elizabeth, which is a family name I'd like to use).

For a boy the only suggestion we're both considering currently is Elias Benjamin. We have considered Nico, Kaspar and Yariel but none feel quite right to me.

Any suggestions for names with a similar feel that we might both like would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks for the great lists! Dc2's name has made an appearance so these are on the right lines.

I like Matteo / Matthias a lot but really not keen on Matt as a shortening, which I expect he would get in school if we go back to the UK. I guess it would be his choice by then though so maybe I am overthinking that!

Yannis is interesting, I know a very lovely Yannis, need to mull that one over.

I quite like the Lina/Lea/Lena style for a girl but it doesn't really grab me. Will think about them some more and see if any grow on me, I'm so indecisive with names!

I think Beatrice is lovely and the Italian pronunciation is even nicer so when she visits your DH's family in Italy they might give her the Italian pronuciation which would be lovely.

I know some Italians called Malcolm and Maicol (Michael) which I think are lovely. Or if you like Nico then there's Nicola and Nicolò or Rico/Riccardo.

I like these two Italian boys names. Salvatore and Giovanni (hope I've got the spelling right) And Rafael is very nice too. I like Louisa and Charlotte Elizabeth is a great name I think. Gianetta is also I think an Italian girls name again not sure on spelling.

If you like Yannis, what about Yari for a boy? Or Elia instead of Elias?

Bernadette for a girl with Bernie for short_

Hi for Beatrice! It's lovely. I much prefer it over Evie but I do think Evie Elizabeth works.

Thanks for the Beatrice love! I'm secretly quite set on it but DH is not sure so want to have some back-ups. I have always loved Charlotte but can't deny I'm put off by the princess associations. Maybe Carlotta is a good alternative, will run that one by DH.
