What do you think of the name Michael? Siblings are Emma, Grace, Julia, Jakob, Matthew and Andrew. I wanted to name the baby Peter but my husband now wants his name to be Michael! Possible middle name ideas would be great! Thank you

One of my favourite names. Great choice! Peter always seems a bit 'wet' to me as a first name but would make a good middle name. :)

I think it's really dull sorry. Mick, Mike, Mikey are all awful.

It's my DH's name and I've always liked it. A good strong name that everyone will recognise. Though I agree with PP that you'll occasionally have to put up with people writing Micheal (though that annoys me more than DH!)

I'm slightly biased as it's DP's name, but I really like it. DP doesn't shorten his at all, he is always Michael.

I went to school with several Michaels. Normally I am against 70s/80s names, but Michael is a great name - love it.

Absolutely all of the shortenings are completely dreadful though.
