Nell. And then call her Nellie as a term of endearment.

I don't like Polly at all, sorry. Too much like Pollyanna.

Nell is nice but some reason adding the 'ie' turns it from a pretty name into a lump of a name.

I prefer Nella to Nellie - Nellie makes me think "elephant" but Nella sounds cool.

Tried googling the Toy Dolls and Nellie the Elephant but none of the Top of the Pops videos are available. Absolute classic!

Anyway in my mind it would boil down to whether you would prefer people rinsing Nellie the Elephant or Polly put the kettle on when they meet your child .

I think they're both dire but it's up to you. If I really had to choose it'd probably be Nellie (probably Eleanor or something though) but everyone will think elephant!

No I haven't i googled it and it said it's from the 80s? I don't think her generation will even link it to that cartoon if mine doesn't? I'm 22... I do Prefer Polly but just wanted some opinions. Thank you everyone x
