I think we have finally narrowed down our boy list to Rufus, Hugo or Laurence (Laurie). Middle name will be Frederick. Please vote!

Love Hugo!

Butterfly1975 · 02/09/2017 19:03

Love Laurence the best although I do like your other two!

Laurence is also less popular if that matters Smile nn's could be Laurie or Renzo which I think is cute!

backaftera2yearbreak · 02/09/2017 19:05

Rufus is a dogs name

Barbie1 · 02/09/2017 19:07

I have a Hugo frederick

Rufus27 · 02/09/2017 19:55

Do you really need to ask?

Kittykatmacbill · 02/09/2017 19:56

Was going to say Hugo! So no help, always think Laurence is a bit wet and the only adult one I have met was seriously bonkers and rufus is a dogs name.

soupforbrains · 02/09/2017 20:03

I'm SO sad Hugo has been pulled out of the contest. It is far and away the nicest of them.

Rufus is ok. Laurence isn't. I just personally don't like it as a name. But additionally I knew three growing up and all were known as Loz/Lozza which just sounds awful. Plus, when you try and think of famous ones who do you think of?

Hugo; Victor Hugo, Hugo Boss, Hugo Rifkind -all nice enough.

Rufus; Rufus Hound, Rufus Wainwright - again both nice enough

Laurence; Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen... Hmm

I'm sure there probably ARE others but those are the immediate ones which come to my mind.

CPtart · 02/09/2017 20:09

Laurence (in its entirety).

Scoleah · 02/09/2017 20:10

Hugo or Rufus.

akindofmagic · 02/09/2017 20:12

My son is called Hugo. My husband suggested the name, I think perhaps because he is a spurs fan lol. I liked it because of Victor Hugo, other Hugos including Hugo Weaving and Hugo Boss Grin

It went on the list of names but the student looking after me during my elective section was named Hugo, so our son ended up being named after him!

derektheladyhamster · 02/09/2017 20:15

Rufus. I know a young adult called Rufus and he is delightful

stocksund13 · 02/09/2017 20:23

Frederick as a first name. Great name.

Mclaren37 · 02/09/2017 20:25

My favorite is Hugo then Rufus then Laurence. All great though. Agree with the Loz/Lozza thing. I knew two who were both called this! Awful. (But hopefully only during their teenage years?)

hawkmcqueen · 02/09/2017 20:46

I like Rufus, strong, different. I do like Hugo but maybe more popular? Laurence is a bit feminine to me for whatever reason. I would then also suggest Ralph and Rafe xxx

early30smum · 02/09/2017 21:42

If it were still in the running, Hugo 100%!

Rufus is nice, I much prefer it to Lawrence.

ImAProseccoHoBro · 02/09/2017 21:45

Rufus

Panicmode1 · 02/09/2017 21:49

I have a Rufus so I'm biased. The only Lawrence I knew was very effete and it put me off the name... I love Hugo but it didn't work with our surname.

Laniakea · 02/09/2017 22:23

well between Laurence & Rufus it has to be Rufus (I have a ds with one of those names Wink )

grufallosfriend · 02/09/2017 22:49

Laurence is a girls name in France and Switzerland, the feminine version of Laurent.

Who knows where your son might end up living or working. I'd spell it Lawrence for a boy.

fionadal · 05/09/2017 20:47

Lawrence is the best IMO and love the nickname Larry

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/09/2017 22:50

Rufus closely followed by Lawrence

RedPepperYellowPepper · 06/09/2017 15:17

Rufus is a dogs name.

daisypond · 06/09/2017 18:53

I like Laurence as well. It immediately brings to mind Laurence Olivier, the actor, and then second, Lawrence (OK, different spelling) Dallaglio, the rugby player.

Ttbb · 06/09/2017 18:58

Hugo. Love it.
