Choosing between Edward and Ernest.

I do have worries about Edward being too popular but it is such a nice name that we have liked for ages. Is it terribly boring?

Ern sounds like urn or errrrrm (IMO!). I don't think Edward is overused.

Edward has loads of lovely shortenings. Ernest- not so much.

Still can't decide Edward seems too normal but Ernest is a bit of a statement. No other names on the table. Have to register him soon...

But we decided against it because Hemingway HATED his name his whole life. Apparently.
