Leonard would be on the BC.

I know a young Lenny and I really like it now!

Roomba · 30/08/2017 11:00

Love it. I know a Leonard (11) who is always known as Leon, and a Leonard who is usually Lenny or Leonard (6).

grufallosfriend · 30/08/2017 12:56

Leon or Leo are good nicknames for Leonard. Lenny sounds girly to my ears, maybe because I know a Leni.

Bubblesoup · 30/08/2017 13:12

Oh, Lenny is so cute!! Do it! Lovely to hear a different name!

Bekabeech · 30/08/2017 13:14

Lenny = Of Mice and Men, sorry.

Choccyhobnob · 30/08/2017 14:02

I know a little one, not short for anything. I don't like it at all unfortunately (although that may be coloured by the fact he's a bit of a bully!)

thethoughtfox · 30/08/2017 14:08

Of Mice and Men. All negative connotations with the name and a lifetime of easy jokes at his expense.

Oysterbabe · 30/08/2017 14:08

I associate it with of Mice and Men. Round here I've heard people use it as a mild insult or to describe themselves if they've done something silly. "I'm such a Lenny"

Ringsender2 · 30/08/2017 15:15

Love Lenny. Sounds very cheerful. Good choice though to have Leonard, then can have both Lenny and Leo.

LadyFlumpalot · 30/08/2017 17:14

To me it's associated with Leonard from The Big Bang Theory and Lenny from the Simpsons.

One good, one bad.

Maverick66 · 30/08/2017 17:18

It would make me think of iconic novel 'Of Mice and Men'

lynmilne65 · 30/08/2017 19:05

Lenny the Lion !!

fairislecable · 30/08/2017 19:12

I was told by a doting grandfather that the latest baby was being called after the Canadian singer who had recently died.

I said "oh Leonard that's a nice name". The response was - no the baby is going to be called Cohen!

Viviennemary · 30/08/2017 19:46

Not keen but I've heard a lot worse.
