What do you think about this sibling combo? Lovely names or just boring/overdone??

Lovely! Really great names and lovely together. Is freddie short for anything or just Freddie?

Mrscropley · 27/08/2017 21:46

We have a Freddie in the family and dd middle name is Amelia!! Great choices!!

SuperBeagle · 27/08/2017 21:47

Well, two of my DCs are Frederick (Fred) and Emilia, so it gets the tick of approval from me. Grin

neighbourhoodwitch · 27/08/2017 21:49

Fabulous!

GrabbyMcGrabby · 27/08/2017 21:50

Nice but pretty common names these days if that bothers you. Amelia especially and similar names have been used a lot in past 10+ years. Probably equivalent of Sharon and Mark of the 70s these days. I'd use a full name like Frederick and use Freddie as a nickname if you're going to go for it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/08/2017 22:00

Well Amelia is a lovely name, and Very popular and over used for that reason. Freddie is adorable and cute, and popular for that reason, so.
I'd have to say both boring but lovely

Orangedaisy · 27/08/2017 22:02

Nice and boring. Sorry, that's not very helpful but was my gut reaction.

Pinkiepromisex · 27/08/2017 22:07

Beautiful classic names. Use Frederick and then shorten to Freddie though.

shalalala · 27/08/2017 22:19

Cute names. Are they for twins or do you already have a Freddie or an Amelia?

Kazzawazza69 · 27/08/2017 22:24

Freddie is cute. I've never liked Amelia I'm afraid- not sure why.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/08/2017 22:32

Prefer Freddie and Emilia.

grufallosfriend · 27/08/2017 22:37

Those of us with Amelias and Freddies will of course say lovely. And there are lots of those!

But objectively both names are very widely used and a little dull. Will probably sound dated in a few years.

Liadain · 27/08/2017 22:41

Nice and boring. Nothing wrong with that though really, if you like them. As said above, they'll probably date a la Derek, Sharon, Tracey etc.

Just be prepared for them to be Amelia S and Freddie S (or whatever your surname initial is) in school. I've taught a load of Amelias over the last few years!

Sophronia · 28/08/2017 07:47

I think they go very well together.

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/08/2017 07:52

Nice and boring!

bookworm14 · 28/08/2017 07:55

Nice classic names; I prefer Freddie short for something than as a name in its own right. Amelia has been the number 1 girl's name for a couple of years though, so if popularity bothers you, I'd avoid it.

Ankleswingers · 28/08/2017 08:00

Lovely names.Smile

My children have classic names as well.

Yes, they're popular names but to you they'll be the only Amelia and Freddie.Smile

They are popular for a reason and that's because they are such nice names!

Go for it.

indigo13 · 28/08/2017 08:16

Nice but more boring, sorry

AdalindSchade · 28/08/2017 08:19

Both very common at the moment.

Imnotatypicalsausage · 28/08/2017 09:14

Really really boring, sorry!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 28/08/2017 09:17

Wildly overused.

They'll be at school with 6 children with the same name.

Teachers must get so bored.

Glumglowworm · 28/08/2017 10:12

Nice but yes a bit boring as well. But I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing

grufallosfriend · 28/08/2017 10:51

Yes, they're popular names but to you they'll be the only Amelia and Freddie.

How? By renaming all the other Amelias and Freddies? Grin
