Which do you prefer? DS is named Oliver but rarely gets called that, it's just occurred to me I don't have a set spelling of his NN though.

Which one would you go for?

I have an Olly.

Everyone else spells it Ollie much to my annoyance, I've never once spelt it this way!

Hotpinkangel19 · 25/08/2017 21:10

@1981trouble I have an Ollie and get annoyed when people spell it Olly. It's not his name!

1981trouble · 25/08/2017 21:24

We have text conversations:

Me - "Olly did really well, he scored 2 goals"

Everyone else "oh brilliant, well done Ollie"

I spend the next hour banging my head on a brick table!

Hotpinkangel19 · 25/08/2017 21:35

Aaaggghhh!!! Especially when you spell it correctly first!!

Sophronia · 25/08/2017 21:59

Ollie

Enidblyton1 · 25/08/2017 22:03

I would assume Oli if I didn't know how it was spelled

grufallosfriend · 25/08/2017 22:21

As there is only 1 L in Oliver, the abbreviation Oli seems most logical.

TheEternalForever · 25/08/2017 22:49

Ollie. It's the only way the Oliver's I know irl have spelt it. Olly is also fine. Choose whichever comes most naturally to you. You should probably be prepared for some people to spell it how they want to regardless of how you choose to though.
