So we've whittled down or name choices to these

Boys - Alexander (Xander) Henry, Gabriel (DH hates this one)

Girls - Felicity, Thea, Xanthe (DH not keen)

What do you lot think? What other names do you like, given our shortlists?

We already have a Chloe.

I love your list well done they all go well with Chloe, from your boys I think Alexander as you have many options of nicknames or you can use it in It's full glory as for girls I really like Thea with Chloe other names that may work (bare in mind you don't want to get too bombarded with names it can get confusing) are:
Girl's
Amelie this one tops it for me with chloe
Sylvie
Leonie

Boy's :
Xavier - if you like ☓ander
Leo
Louis

SuperBeagle · 24/08/2017 10:48

Chloe is my all time favourite girls name. I didn't end up using it still bitter but have DDs named Emilia and Lily Rose. I think they're both a similar style: feminine, relatively popular, objectively "pretty" names. I was also considering Eloise, Anna/Hannah, Ivy, Juliet, Lucy, Madeleine, Matilda, Polly, Freya, Seraphina

I love Henry from your boys list, and think that goes very well with Chloe. Others I'd suggest would be: Benjamin, Edward, Elliot, Harry, James, Jack, Miles, Oliver, Oscar, Samuel, Sebastian.

Henry or Thea Smile

HighwayDragon1 · 24/08/2017 11:24

Ooo I like Edward. Thea is lovely but I worry that it sounds like ' fear'

Names are very tricky for us - I teach so a lot of madness are immediately a no because of one (or more) of our students!

Henry
Felicity

Both work well with Chloe.

I don't think you should have names in your shortlist that your DH hates, you both need to be happy with them.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/08/2017 13:10

I love Xanthe and Xander.

Sophronia · 24/08/2017 15:55

Alexander and Xanthe. Both Greek names to go with Chloe.

HighwayDragon1 · 24/08/2017 16:20

Just looking at names similar to Xanthe and came across Xanthia, a mix of Xanthe and Thea. Too out there?

early30smum · 24/08/2017 17:05

Love them all! Good choices!

Lemondrop99 · 24/08/2017 19:03

user1473602935 · 24/08/2017 19:05

MadameJosephine · 24/08/2017 19:09

Alexander and felicity

Nathaniel

Argeles · 24/08/2017 19:16

Alexander and Xanthe.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/08/2017 10:11

Hi Dragon, Xanthe is beautiful, but Xanthia, could so easily be confused with Anthea, but that's only my take.😄

noitsachicken · 25/08/2017 10:17

I have a Xander, and loved Xanthe, but couldn't have the two together!
Other names we liked...
Nathaniel (Nate)
Jesse
Dexter

Lyra
Claudia
Alice
Bryony

HighwayDragon1 · 25/08/2017 10:17

I did think that too Sugar, like we've just jazzed up Anthea haha!

I think we're pretty much set on Thea now, let's hope it's a girl Grin

Felicity and Thea are gorgeous. I love all your boys names.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/08/2017 11:37

Thea is lovely too !

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/08/2017 13:00

You need to scrap Gabriel and Xanthe if you husband hates/dislikes them

Alexander / Xander - I find Alexander a bit dull as it generally gets shortened to Alex. I quite like Zander though. Dislike the X

Henry - I think it's a gorgeous name even though it's mega popular currently

Felicity - I find Felicity a little serious on a baby/small child but it is very sophisticated as an adult. Fliss or even better Flick as a nn helps soften it in the early years. I like it

Thea - I think Thea is gorgeous but prefer it as a shortened version of Dorothea or possibly Theodora

HighwayDragon1 · 25/08/2017 13:32

Caterpillar, Felicity would be Lissie not Fliss or Flick.

Issue with Alexander is here it would be pronounced Alexarrrrnderr! Dh kind of wants Xander as a full name, but I think they need a 'sunday' name.

I don't like Ed or Eddy for Edward, Ted is better. Why is this so hard?

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/08/2017 13:40

I like Thea but prefer Alethea :)

Alexander would be my pick as it's very adaptable. Al, Alex, Lex, Xander, Sandy, Anders, Sasha etc Although I prefer the scottish equivalet of Alastair.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 25/08/2017 13:48

Given you can't really use any that DH hates, I'd say Felicity and Henry :)

Heathen4Hire · 25/08/2017 13:49

I don't like any of them.

I like names from mythology and legend, or flower names. I was unconscious from a GA when DH named our DD Sophie Rebecca, and I have resented him ever since.

I like Daisy, Tulip, Petal, Flora, Ariadne, Genevieve, Bridget Juno Luna etc for a girl.

Aeron, Brandon, Cian, Evander, Finn/Fintan, Robert, George, Sean, James for boys. I don't like Gabriel, but I know one and he's a little shit
