Thoughts on Lyra vs Cora? Middle name Rachel.

Thanks.xx

I think the 'ra' at the end is a bit much with Rachel.

Cora is better tho.
Lyra makes me think of Myra, which isn't good.

Cora

FastWindow · 25/08/2017 00:36

None of those go together. Can you put a middle name between the two? Cora Madeline Rachel? Lyra Rose Rachel?

isawahatonce · 25/08/2017 00:59

I agree with pp that neither goes with Rachel. Both are nice names though, and I really like Rachel, would consider that for my own future DC.

Lyra. Sounds starry

Apple cora

Lemondrop99 · 25/08/2017 19:12

Love Lyra. Cora is ok too.

I don't think it really matters how well they go with Rachael, as both names will rarely be used together in reality

Beadieeye · 25/08/2017 21:44

Cora by a country mile.
Coralie flows better with Rachel though

Cora is not a particularly attractive name. It makes me think of the weird twin aunts, Cora and Clarice Groan in 'Gormenghast'. (If anyone else remembers that!)

I suppose that's one of the first times I came across the name, so that's why I have the association. Also, another strange auntie in a kids' book (by Noel Streatfeild) that I read. Also, apple cores.

DramaAlpaca · 25/08/2017 23:05

Definitely Lyra.
