Had every intention of calling our baby girl Jasmine until today my DP said, how about Darcey! Shock I love it!!

Which do you prefer?

Of the two, Jasmine is preferable. I feel like it's less likely to pigeonhole someone into a particular age or social group than Darcey, which is a bit trendy at the moment.

Jayd is a name (Jade) the spelling is close to home for me as it's the name of my cousin who died many years ago in a car accident.

Anything is a name if it's what the parent chooses to call their child!

DP likes Darcey Grace which I think is lovely but always liked the idea of Jasmine Jayd before I was even pregnant

Jasmine is lovely. Jayd really ruins it though.

Threeandabit · 22/08/2017 21:29

Darcey

Jasmine may get more popular once Disney brings out it's new live action version of Aladdin.

grufallosfriend · 22/08/2017 21:57

Jasmine. I don't like Darcy, it sounds masculine and reminds me of Mr Darcy too.

SuperBeagle · 22/08/2017 23:37

If it's between Darcey Grace and Jasmine Jayd, I'd choose Darcey Grace.

Prefer the spelling Darcy though.

CakeRattleandRoll · 23/08/2017 00:44

Another vote for Jasmine.

PointlessUsername · 23/08/2017 00:58

Darcey Grace

Strokethefurrywall · 23/08/2017 01:08

Darcey Grace definitely - I like Jasmine too but really like the juxtaposition between a slightly masculine Darcey and the graceful Grace.

Darcey was my first choice for a girl but DH vetoed and we had two boys in any event, and it didn't go well with our surname.

grufallosfriend · 23/08/2017 07:15

I Darcey pronounced Darc-ey or like Darcy?

I'm wondering why the e has been added?

ziggzagg · 23/08/2017 07:18

Love both but Jasmine is my favorite Smile

ilivebythesea · 23/08/2017 08:03

Definitely Jasmine.

Threeandabit · 23/08/2017 10:29

Darcey is how Darcey Bussell spells her name.

3had0w · 23/08/2017 10:50

We have decided on Jasmine Rose (Rose being the middle name of my cousin)

OP posts:
Threeandabit · 23/08/2017 11:00

Jasmine Rose goes really nicely. Smile

Turquoise0wl · 23/08/2017 11:03

I prefer Darcy (this spelling) but if the only option is Darcey - I'd go for Jasmine Smile

MammieBear · 23/08/2017 13:25

Jasmine

Pemba · 23/08/2017 14:07

Jasmine Rose is very pretty OP - good choice.

MadameJosephine · 24/08/2017 19:13

Jasmine is beautiful. I'm not keen on Darcey and it's also becoming very common

IHateUncleJamie · 24/08/2017 19:15

Jasmine Rose is lovely.

greendale17 · 24/08/2017 19:16

Jasmine/ Jazmine is getting popular.

I prefer Dacres out of the two

KnockMeDown · 24/08/2017 19:19

Was coming on to say Darcey Jayd sounds prettier, but see you have gone for Jasmine Rose. That is a lovely combination, it honours your cousin, and I love that both are flower names. Sounds like you are sorted!

Jasmine Rose is really nice. Congratulations.

Subla2401 · 24/08/2017 23:21

Darcey, definitely! Although I prefer the spelling Darcy Smile
