would a recently popular name put you off using it?!

Favourite name for last three years (since my son was born) is Arlo, we didn't end up using it for him but I'm now due another boy and really want to use it this time. However I keep seeing it mentioned all the time on here and it's noticed its suddenly gone up in the name lists. I really don't want a name that you hear called all the time or have 5 others in the classroom but then I love the name so don't want to be put off from using it!

Go with the name you like! I liked the name Tom but we never used it because of the number of Toms we knew. We used another name, never heard anyone with it, turned up at school and several of them.

Unless you go for an avant garde name, which I think brings its own problems for the child in future, you are likely to meet another one somewhere.

MN is not representative of all UK regions or child rearing population IMHO!!

Thanks everyone, the more I see the name written I love it even more!!! Will be upset if we didn't use it as absolutely love it so think we will just go for it! Thanks for all the comments, helped make my decision xd
