Current girls name shortlist

We've got a rather eclectic shortlist for our unexpected number 4. It's a girl and we've used up our favourite girls names, so we're struggling a bit. Thoughts on these? Middle names not fixed.

Judith Rachel
Cecily Joan
Celia Joan
Adele (no idea for middle name - Ruth?)

Other names on our list - Fern, Stella, Kay, Vivienne.

I don't think you can do Adele. It's too reminiscent of, um, Adele.

I really like the others, though. Judith in particular. Kay seems a bit dated?

The only one I like is Vivienne

Lots of names are also famous people though. That doesn't really bother me too much.

I Like Fern. I have cousins called Fearne & Tarn.
I also like Vivienne x

I like Cecily. Cecily Fern?

I really like Judith and if it wasn't the name of a nasty elderly relative who would have thought DC was being named after her I'd have used it like a shot. Judy is sweet for a toddler and I like the mouth feel of the whole name.

One of my DC is named a mixture of the next two on your list so I also approve wholeheartedly of those!

Not so keen on Adele, though I did like Adelaide when we were listing. Like Stella and Vivienne on your other list, probably Vivienne more.

Cecily Joan and Celia Joan are great. I also like Fern a lot.

Ruth or Joan would be lovely middle names for all your options.

Cecily Fern is sweet, but I'd like to use Joan if possible as it's a family name on both sides. I'd have said Judith Joan too, but it seems a bit too much.

My name is Adele my middle name is Marie goes ok together as both names are Frenchman I wouldn't use Adele and Ruth together. Love the name Adeline

I LOVE June but DH says no :( I like Marion too. Alice is another one of DDs middle names. Beatrice doesn't work with our surname and there are two in DDs class...

Cecilia is just a bit too long, I think.

Underthemoonlight - do you get a lot of references to the singer? I'm not that bothered (I have a name that is always linked to a character in a famous film), I'm just curious.

How about Stella Ruth or Stella Vivienne ?

I wouldn't associate my name with the singer either op. Adele is a very old French name and actually features in Charlotte bronte Jane Ayre. She is the governess charge who she teaches English.

That's my association too, moonlight!

I love Judith and Cecily and Vivienne. I'm less keen on Adele, although I do like Adelaide and Adeline.

How about Eloise, Faye, Iris, Juliet or Nancy?

Oooh Stella Ruth is lovely. Sadly Stella is not DH's favourite...

End of the day op not everyone is going to like your choices only thing that's important is what name you like. Everyone's going to have different opinions.

I know everyone likes different names but we're struggling to settle on any one (or two) of those at the moment and I thought feedback from here might just sway me one way or the other. I might get really defensive about a name that no one likes, or like a name more if lots of people say it's lovely.

Sometimes you just know when you have the child I changed DS name shortly before we had DS we were all set on max and ended up with Joshua.

Celia is lovely. How about Jude or just Judy instead of Judith? Both gorgeous IMO. If nasty relative implies she may be named after her just snort and say 'um, no'. 😉

It'd be nice to see Adele make a come back.

Cecily is also gorgeous. Celia is okay.
I'm not thrilled about Judith at all. I don't get the hype over this name.
