Toby/Peter/John - penis?!

Considering one of the above for soon-to-be-DS.

Good , solid names I thought...But the other day a male friend said did I realise they were all nicknames for penis? That's rather put me off!
I've heard of John Thomas as a nn, but never Toby or Peter or John without the Thomas!
Would anyone else see this associations in these names?

I actually know someone called John Thomas. He goes by his middle name. John on its own is fine. I have never heard Peter or Toby used as slang for penis.

Any Judy Blume fan knows that the name to avoid is Ralph...

William = Willy = Penis

Anyone call their son Richard these days, or has it been forever ruined by its nickname and penis connotations?

Never heard anyone use any of those names for a penis.

You would never be able to call...a girl Frances or Mary come to that.
