What are your thoughts and impressions of Nathaniel?

Also would you shorten it? I don't think I would

And how many Nathaniel's do you know

I like it and would shorten to Nate 👍

SweetheartTreacleTart · 27/07/2017 22:39

Lovely name.

Don't like it at all. It sounds nasally to me. But I don't like any N names, really (don't like Nathan or Nate either).

The one Nathaniel I know gets called Nat for short, as in Nat from Natalie or Natasha.

@TheSeaTheSkyTheSeaTheSkyyyyyy YES...I'd never heard the name Nathaniel until Six Feet Under, and I fell in love with it, and it's been on my list ever since.

I have a Nathaniel, don't really shorten it much - Nat very occasionally.

hellejuice91 · 30/07/2017 10:41

I really like this name and have known two. It can be shortened to:
Nat
Nate
Nathan

redfragglebiker · 30/07/2017 10:45

We loved it but couldn't have it as it sounds ridiculous with our surname. We've just found out we're having a girl in any case but were a bit gutted we couldn't have used Nathaniel for a boy

I loved the name Nathaniel however dh did not. We now have a gorgeous 7 year old called Nathan. Only one family member occasionally calls him Nate but his school peers have never shortened it.
