First off don't feel sad for me please. I am completely at peace with this.

I lost my only baby just after the 12 week scan. There will never be a baby but DH and I still say 'that's a nice name' if we see or hear something we like.
The nice thing is that it is complete fantasy so it doesn't matter.

At the moment we like Wyndham for a boy and Winter for a girl.

What are your fantasy names and what would you say if I was going for those names.

Oh so many

Marjolene (pronounced -sort of- marry oh lena)
Cassandra
Johanna (pronounced Yohanna)

I have a Miriam.

CabernetSauvignyoni · 26/07/2017 23:39

So sorry for your loss OP Flowers
Wyndham is brilliant but I just reminds me of Wesley from Buffy!

Winter is actually on our list courtesy of DP and has grown on me a lot recently.

Otherwise:

Seraphina Lux, Persephone Lyra and Cosima Mallory

Sebastian Arlo and Ezra Sterling

DP would never allow them! Grin

Buntysoven · 27/07/2017 00:47

I grew up on Wyndham Road 😲so I like it except nn might be Windy! Sorry you've had a rough time but glad you're healing.
My fantasy names are Arriety Demelza and Lois. DH vehemently vetoed all 3. Bet my daughter will thsnk him in years to come

Strokethefurrywall · 27/07/2017 00:51

My mythical 3rd son would be Vaughn and my mythical daughter would be Valentina or Lenore (my mums name)

MeanAger · 27/07/2017 00:51

Hypothetical girls name would be both my grandmothers' names but not sure if i'd be thought a bit of a knob for it because one of my grandmothers died before I was born so I didn't actually know her. My dad was very close to her though and her name is lovely.

SnickersWasAHorse · 27/07/2017 00:57

Oh I love Persephone.
DH would have it as people wouldn't know how to pronounce it.

SnickersWasAHorse · 27/07/2017 00:57

Wouldn't have it even.

Paisley for a girl and Rickon for a boy

pieceofpurplesky · 27/07/2017 01:09

Tatiana (after the Orphan Black actress who is amazing)

frid · 27/07/2017 01:18

My fantasy is virtue names but ones that really weird in England, like Endeavour or Goodluck

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 27/07/2017 01:26

Aurora. Sorry OP.Flowers

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 27/07/2017 01:27

Also, I love Persephone too. But DP does not. Sigh

Bumpitup44 · 27/07/2017 08:33

Frid I taught a Goodanswer once! I did find it a little odd especially as his brother was Kevin :) x

BrokenBattleDroid · 27/07/2017 10:20

Lorelai Lol, it's a tempting offer but I think borrowing your husband would cause no end of problems in marriage Grin

I also love Peta (pronounced Peter) for a girl. And Ariel Blush

BrokenBattleDroid · 27/07/2017 10:21

Goodanswer and Kevin, wow Shock

Fruitcocktail6 · 27/07/2017 10:23

Roman for a boy. All the girls names I like I would use in real life, just not sure I'm brave enough for Roman.

TheScottishPlay · 27/07/2017 10:29

I am sorry for your loss, Snickers.

I have one DS whose name I love and was happy to see it mentioned a few times in the current Scottish baby names thread.

Other boys names I like are Gabriel for it's strong yet soft 'feel'. Also Callum and Rowan.

If DS had been a girl he would have been Blythe as it's a beautiful quality and I like the sound. Also fond of Holly.

SnickersWasAHorse · 27/07/2017 10:37

I know a real life Roman, Fruit.

OP posts:
Gwencooper81 · 27/07/2017 10:45

Flowers for you OP.
Loveday
Athena
Autumn

Rupert
Henry
Edmund

Triplets twice, a lottery win and boom I'm sorted.

I know a Roman and cruelly he gets all sorts added to his name ( behind his back).. road, nose, army, numeral, general etc.

MumBod · 27/07/2017 10:58

My fantasy name for the daughter I'll never have is currently Winter Rose.

In the past she's been Imogen, Daisy, Summer and Alice.

And Robin.

And Frances.

She's been around a while Grin

Lemondrop99 · 27/07/2017 11:55

I like Demelza and Esmeralda for a girl.

I really like Lysander for a boy

I would never be brave enough to actually use them!

SnickersWasAHorse · 27/07/2017 12:45

I taught an Esmeralda years ago. Lovely girl, Ukrainian I think

user1459464195 · 27/07/2017 13:19

Sorry for your loss OP.

Names I think are stunning but I'll never use - either they don't work with our surname, DH said no, or I feel don't match our ethniticy (and may therefore offend someone) or I find them 'too much' on our child but would love to see them on another if that makes sense:

Adelaide, nicknamed Heidi
Talitha
Seraphina, nicknamed Sera
Juniper
Calliope / Calista
Madelief
Ember
Autumn
Sophronia, nicknamed Sophie
Jessamine
Nerissa

Ludovic
Ezekiel
Nicodemus
Cassius / Caspian / Casimir / Casper
Everett
Cormac
Conrad
Xavier
Christof
Orlando
Evander
Jacoby
Rudyard
Rudolf / Rudolph
Alaric
Lorenzo
Lazarus

If a Mumsnet user used one of the above, if would make me very happy.

frid · 27/07/2017 13:25

User, I love Caspian. I had a crush on Prince Caspian when I read Prince Caspian: the Return to Narnia
