I love them both. And I love the nicknames Thea and Dora and Dot.

Which full name is better?

I like both !

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/07/2017 19:28

Theodora

Jooni · 24/07/2017 20:18

I like both but Theodora is definitely my fave. It seems less lacy and more feisty to me, and I love all the nicknames.

SoftSheen · 24/07/2017 21:38

Dorothea, without a doubt.

IThoughtYouSaidGin · 24/07/2017 22:30

I have a Theodora, we shorten it to Dora.

I absolutely love her name (obviously)!

bridgetreilly · 25/07/2017 20:58

Dorothea for me too, and yes, because of Dorothea Brooke. I like how it sounds too. Theodora, to me, is a feminised form of Theodore and I don't really like that.

bridgetreilly · 25/07/2017 20:59

Also, whichever version you choose, I think you can still have all the nicknames! I like Thea, but Dora and Dot are also very cute.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 25/07/2017 21:17

DD is Dorothea nn Thea and Dodo at home. She is a 2015 baby and only one of 16 in the UK that year, I think.

She and her nursery mates have no problems with Thea and she often refers to herself proudly as "Do'fea" (pointing to her chest) so she doesn't seem to find the full version tricky Grin

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 25/07/2017 22:15

Theodora but both are lovely!

Tigersteeth · 25/07/2017 22:18

Me too, IThought!
I love the name Dora: short and clear, not too girly, recognisable but not common. It's a perfect choice!

Rhubarbtart9 · 25/07/2017 22:22

Theadora is stunning

CocoaLeaves · 25/07/2017 22:29

I love Theodora, it seems to have a lot more character to it.

autumnkate · 25/07/2017 22:39

We have a Theodora (Teddy) and we love it. Had one old lady say "She won't thank you for that when she's older!" but I think she will.

Dorothea seems like a a lot more of a mouthful to me.

Leo35 · 25/07/2017 22:45

Dorothea would have been my choice had DS2 been a girl! Still like it.

Joeybee · 25/07/2017 23:05

They're both adorable and a similar style. Personally I prefer Dorothea, but really either is great. I think you can get Dot/Dora more easily from Dorothea.

early30smum · 26/07/2017 22:47

Theodora definitely. I love Isadora too if that would be an option.

LovelyBranches · 26/07/2017 23:30

We have a Thea, we did consider calling her Althea but decided that Thea was beautiful enough.

Of your choices I would pick Theodora

Epipgab · 26/07/2017 23:34

Dorothea

Mrsknackered · 26/07/2017 23:39

I prefer Dorothea but really love Dorothy/Dotty.
Theodora would've been good but the rise of Theodore's would put me off as I really don't like Theodore.

frid · 26/07/2017 23:42

Theodora. You might like Theodosia?
