I don't know how I feel about this name but it is a diminutive of Eleanor which is a very special name for personal reasons. I dislike Nora and can't use Eleanor as its too close to a name I've already used. I absolutely LOVE Elora but 2 out of 3 of my girls have names beginning with E so I'd like to break the trend. Also like it spelt Leora but prefer Liora as it looks prettier IMO. Honest opinions please! A middle name might be Ruby, another special name to me, would it go together? TIA

Think I'm going for Liora. Is Rosemary a nice middle name? I have a niece called Rose and a close aunt called Mary so I just came up with it! Liora Rosemary?

Beautiful name

Rosemary is lovely, but I'm not sure about the two together. It's a bit 'ra-ra' in the middle.

Leonora
Ellen
Lyra (I like Liora, and spelled with an i, too)
Eliane (though might involve a lifetime of saying, no not Elaine)

Honoria

Or Eluned/Luned which is Welsh, meaning image, and who was a Welsh saint. It is the origins of the modern names Linnet (with confusion-conflation with the bird), and Lynette (with confusion/conflation with Lynn).

What about Alora instead of Elora

Mamabear4180 · 03/08/2017 19:24

Thanks so much for the great feedback. Now thinking Leora but still unsure of a middle name.

Leora is beautiful and the better spelling, great choice. You just need to avoid middle names starting with R or A as they won't flow well. Pretty much anything else will be lovely. Any family names you could use?

Now wondering if it matters having 3 E names for sisters?

Really want Elora Ruby. Both mean something special.

Alternatively I thought of Leora Pearl.

It's a tough one!
