Hi! I have a son called Milo and due another boy in November. I absolutely love the name Arlo and feel this is the name for my baby, however I am aware it's quite similar to Milo. What's your opinion?!?!? I know in my heart I would be so upset if i didnt use this name, but just want others opinions! Thanks Smile

Hmmm a hard one. I really like both names, what's the boys age gap? I do think it's a bit of a mouthful when said together however in their lifetime they will only be being called by you together for a small fraction of the time if you know what I mean.
I think Milo and Finn sound lovely together.
All you need to do to use Arlo is have a third son, if you said Milo Finn and Arlo it's totally different :)

Personally I think they are both lovely names and go really well together 😊 I can imagine brothers called Milo and Arlo. Love both names but hubby isn't keen 😔
Please do for it if you love them x

I think if you like it, go for it. I don't think they sound silly, although they are similar. They will only be living together for a small part of their lives, so I don't think it would be a major issue.

Pick the name you love. I think people are too obsessed with 'matching' names with siblings. They'll be adults before you know it and who at work ever judges your name based on your siblings'.

milosmummy16 · 02/08/2017 07:27

almostmumto3 the age gap will be nearly 3 years, altho really hoping for a girl if we did have another child (in a few years at least!!!) But I do agree, those 3 names sound lovely together x

Arlo is a bit trendy and some people might see it as an out there hipster name so you were always going to get a mixed response, but FWIW I like it a lot and I don't think it sounds offensive with Milo. I actually think it sounds really cute Smile

AccrualIntentions · 02/08/2017 14:27

I like the names but together it sounds a bit much. I suppose it depends how often you think you'll be using the names of your children together?

Shemozzle · 03/08/2017 01:34

Sorry, but I think they are far too similar and shouldn't be used together. You could possibly get away with Otto if you like names ending in o. My son was very nearly Milo, tried it out for a couple of days even (but settled on Rudy in the end).

Lofari · 03/08/2017 01:44

I like them together I think they 'fit'.
Go for it OP. World would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things ;)

MrsMamaG2016 · 03/08/2017 13:34

Arlo and Milo were both name options for me with my DS we went with Archie thou and now really regret not calling him Arlo because I love that so much

Celestia26 · 03/08/2017 14:08

I think you should use the name you love. Milo and Arlo are fine together, it's not a ridiculous pairing. Follow your heart.

ScarletSienna · 04/08/2017 22:56

50% of the names are exactly the same so I do think they sound too similar to use. Like them both though!

Maybe try it for a few days to see when he is born.
