Thank you Smile yes, I know Aubrey was originally a male name, but so was Courtney, Darcy, etc. Smile more girls are now given the name!

Yes, but double the amount of girls were given the name to boys.

Is Courtney and Darcy also a boys name then?

I know a girl Aubrey. A lot of people said 'oh that's usually a boys name' when she was born but people are used to it now. I don't think it'll be an issue.

I do prefer Grace though. Confused

I have a Grace and it is so common now so I'd say Aubrey, even though I don't really like it very much.

Some names that used to be boys names have pretty much fully transitioned-like Darcy and Evelyn. Some haven't-like Aubrey IMO. If you really want to use it I would go with the Aubree spelling

Grace

Or Audrey, with a D

Ollycat · 17/07/2017 20:25

Aubrey is definitely a boys name - agree with others to go for Audrey instead.

How odd I've never heard Aubrey as a boys name (maybe I've been living under a rock??!), I personally prefer Aubrey
