Is Kyle nice? I like it but I've had people telling me it's chavvy ( hate that word!)

Kyle is okay, but I do prefer Kai.

I know a lovely Emile, but I don't think I particularly like the name.

ProseccoandPizza · 13/07/2017 13:37

DP's middle name is Kyle. For some strange reason his parent's gave it as a middle name and the whole family only call him by it. DS(6) and I call him Vile Kyle whenever he does anything gross (farts, burps etc).

To me it's a very 90's name.

OpheliaRosePolonius · 13/07/2017 13:49

I love it Smile

midsomermurderess · 13/07/2017 15:00

I like it. It might well be better know in Scotland, in the top 100 anyway.

CharleyAnn · 18/07/2017 13:17

I know a few Kyle's and none of them have I ever thought of as 'chavvy'.

My other half is called Kyle. He's professional and works for finance, you create yourself how you want to be seen by others.

Any person no matter what thier name is could be a 'chav'. Labelling a name with that term is just silly.

IVFNewbie · 18/07/2017 13:17

Chav or US.

CharleyAnn · 18/07/2017 14:59

Plus, I've never heard anyone rhyme the name.

ConstanceCraving · 18/07/2017 15:47

I don't like it personally. Seems very dated to me.

Lemondrop99 · 18/07/2017 17:07

Nate is cool. Nathaniel nn Nate?

UsernameInvalid66 · 18/07/2017 18:02

I kind of like it because the only two I've met were lovely, but I wonder if it might be a bit dated for a baby now, a bit twentysomething.

bridgetreilly · 18/07/2017 18:42

I like Emile (or Emil?) best by far of your choices, OP.

Buntysoven · 19/07/2017 00:43

The naughtiest boy at my daughter's nursery is Rupert! The naughty boy comment is worse than chav imo and that's horrible. Smacks of snobbery. That said Kyle is too Jeremy for me Grin

JackfruitMoon · 19/07/2017 05:28

Not a fan of Kyle at all.

Unihorn · 19/07/2017 05:32

It's not snobbery to think some names are associated with being naughty, it's normally years of experience in schools. I have teachers with 30 years of experience in my family and all will concur on the names considered to be "naughty", no matter where they have taught. Of course it doesn't mean your child will definitely turn out naughty!

WaxOnFeckOff · 19/07/2017 09:09

I'm in Scotland and it would be seen as a council estate name now. It's not a name I've ever been fond of regardless tbh.

In terms of "naughty boy" names, I've never come across a Ruaridh (much loved on here) that wasn't a pain the arse "spirited".

OddBoots · 19/07/2017 09:11

Wouldn't that make you Kyle's mum?
