I'm not a big fan. Could work well though with a long surname. Definitely not if you have a short surname like Smith.

Hassled · 12/07/2017 22:07

I quite like it. It's a strong name - you wouldn't mess with a Brooke.

MrTurtleLikesKisses · 12/07/2017 22:21

I like it!

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2017 22:41

I think it's dated and quite harsh sounding. I don't like it.

Ohyesiam · 12/07/2017 23:08

Good as a surnameWink

MikeUniformMike · 13/07/2017 00:38

Is your surname Bond?

VinIsGroot · 13/07/2017 01:04

It was in our list!!! Love it!

JuicyCake · 13/07/2017 01:05

90s Valley girl, to my mind...

TheUpsideDown · 13/07/2017 01:08

Love it. This name was at the top of my list if DS had been a DD. It was a toss up between Brooke or Niamh.

Migraleve · 13/07/2017 01:19

Common 15ish years ago, lots of them In high schools and colleges now. Probably dated

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 13/07/2017 01:24

i like it

how about without the e?

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 13/07/2017 06:50

I automatically think Brooke Shields.
(Sneaking admiration for her since 2005, when she publicly called out Tom Cruise's idiot mansplaining about PND/ PPD: what's not to love about her/ the name Brooke for that alone?).

Brook, no 'e', is more my preference, simply because of the nature aspect.

MyOtherProfile · 13/07/2017 06:53

Brooke is from the same generation as Tiffany and Kelly. Not old fashioned enough to be back in fashion.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/07/2017 07:30

For a boy of girl OP?

I didn't used to like it but a girl I want to school with has a 6 year old Brooke and it really suits her so now I quite like it

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/07/2017 08:22

For a girl ? If so, yes, I like Brooke.

ilivebythesea · 13/07/2017 08:33

I like it!

Migraleve · 13/07/2017 08:34

Brooke is from the same generation as Tiffany and Kelly.

Tiffany was common in the late 80's early 90's with the singer

Kelly was very very common in the 70's - there are lots of 40ish Kelly's

Brooke's popularity came much later, late 90's early 00's

However I agree the name is not quite old enough to become cool again

27Harper · 13/07/2017 09:35

I really like it! It's a lovely name xx

MammieBear · 13/07/2017 10:34

Prefer paige from those sorts of names.

GirlcalledJames · 13/07/2017 11:08

Love it for a boy.
Unfortunately I know a very annoying one that's put me of it, otherwise I'd have used it.

MyOtherProfile · 13/07/2017 12:02

Brooke Shields was in Blue Lagoon in 1980 and I know at least 2 people named after her around that time.

Migraleve · 13/07/2017 14:28

Oh yes of course there have been people called Brooke prior to 2000, but I was talking about it being massively popular, which did come much later

Threeandabit · 22/07/2017 20:33

I quite like it. With my surname it sounds like a place name though.

stackedcups · 22/07/2017 20:57

I think of a page 3 model. Was there someone famous like that maybe in the back of my mind? I've no idea, but that's the image that the name conjures up for some reason. Sorry. Blush

golfmonkey · 22/07/2017 21:05

I think it's a beautiful name
