Thoughts on our final choices please!

Not set in stone, but we are fairly sure we are going for:

Boy: Matthew James
Girl: Penelope Grace

James and Grace are family names, so we're pretty set on using them as middle names.

We know they aren't terribly unusual names (any of them). Our taste is quite classic, but we would probably like to avoid a very popular (maybe top 5) name as a first name, if possible.

Other options on our list were Philippa, Peter and Christopher.

Both nice.

I think Penelope is outside the top 100. Matthew is more popular, but still outside top 20. Peter would probably be even further down the list.

Matthew James is lovely, I like Peter, dislike Christopher.
Philippa Grace is my favourite.

I'm not a fan of Philippa or Peter, and I don't think Chris is as nice as Matt.

I absolutely love the name Elizabeth and nearly used it for Dd1.

Sadly, we now can't use it (and we really can't - long story)!

Fabulous names. I also like Philippa a lot (Phil for short, like that fab character in one of the later Anne of Green Gables novels Blush). But Penelope is great too.

Lovely names! I like the shortened versions too, Matt & Penny - they will be used at some stage whether you want them to be or not!

Like them both a lot. I would've been Matthew James if I'd been a boy.
DP's brother is Matt, otherwise we would've considered it for DS1

Penelope is in the top 20, depending on where you live.

It's gone popular here in Liverpool.

I like Philippa, just as much.

Penelope definitely does seem to be on an upward trend. We're not ruling out Philippa and have a bit of time so will play it by ear, though ultimately will choose the one we like best or which suits her best. Don't know the sex yet, but when we do I think that will help.

Love Christopher. Strong, classic name that isn't over used. Might be biased... my Christopher is awesome and goes by Kit.

Peter is lovely and not heard of much now so that gets my vote also penelope for a girl or you may like Persephone other than that I think you may like:
Sarah
Martha
Mary or Marie or Marian
Susan or Susanna

Nathaniel
