Girls' names that work in 3 languages...

Morning all! I love the baby names threads :D Thought I'd post our challenge - we need a girl's name that works in English, Russian and Spanish. Obviously you can say a name in any language and with any accent, but we'd like a name that actually sounds good in all three and doesn't require extensive explanations.

So far I've used Ancient Greek names for inspiration, but quite a lot of them are very "heavy" names, IYSWIM. Possible options have included Anna (bit boring?), Nina (my current favourite, DH is not sold), Natalia...

Surname is a very standard Spanish name ending in -ia, that can be pronounced in English with no trouble. All suggestions welcomed! :)

I love Zoya (Russian for Zoe). I don't know how it would be pronounced in Spanish though. I'm with you regarding Nina as well, lovely name.

How about Stefania, Katarina, Emma, Nora, Cora?

Anna as suggested above, is a beautiful name.

user1484167681 · 05/07/2017 09:59

Ahhh thanks, this is so helpful! Some suggestions are ruled out because they are immediate family members (Alexandra, Elena, Margarita) or have bad connotations for me personally (Emma, Lilia) but there are loads to consider further!

Please keep them coming, I knew the MN hive mind would help :):)
