It's become a favourite for us now. I have to say it's not my longstanding favourites though (all of which were vetoed by DH or are now suddenly way too popular). What does it make you think of? DH thinks it's serious, but he's just about willing to use it. I think it's quite elegant. Vintage but not in a bad way.

It's nice. It was 91st last year so quite popular. Depends if you care about that or not.

PodgeBod · 04/07/2017 08:22

Well I have one so I obviously love it. We haven't met another one yet. It is quite a serious name but very elegant. Her nickname is La-La.

parmavioletmartini · 04/07/2017 08:40

I love it.

Classic and timeless, not too flouncy or overly girly.

Very elegant

WineCheeseSleep · 04/07/2017 21:59

Absolutely love it, wish we could have used it but DH really didn't like it. Super elegant and classy I think.

Nospringflower · 04/07/2017 22:04

Like it.

raviolidreaming · 04/07/2017 22:26

always find KHLAR-uh a bit harsh and hard to say

Me too, and I don't like how it sounds.

Imstickingwiththisone · 04/07/2017 22:30

I like it and have always known it as Clah-ra. Nowt to do with Dr Who though.

And i wouldn't say 91st could put it down as 'quite popular' either.

bridgetreilly · 05/07/2017 04:09

I like it. It is a proper grown-up name.

bridgetreilly · 05/07/2017 04:10

I also quite like Clary as a nickname for it.

RedStripeIassie · 05/07/2017 04:42

It's georgeous and unusual. I don't know any Clara s. I'd use it for a second dd.

BunnyBardot · 05/07/2017 04:53

Makes me think of Clara Bow (Clare-ah), the "it" girl. Lovely. I would pronounce it as Clare-ah as it's the traditional English pronunciation.

hophop333 · 05/07/2017 07:52

I think it actually sounds quite tacky/common...sorry!

Frazzled2207 · 05/07/2017 07:55

Absolutely lovely. Would have been my first girl name choice but it doesn't go with our surname. I had boys tho.

Dixiestamp · 05/07/2017 07:57

I do like it but have always preferred Lara, without the C!

Yika · 05/07/2017 08:05

It's lovely but very popular now. I actually prefer Clare/Claire which has a softer sound.

sticklebrix · 05/07/2017 08:08

Lovely. It's quite popular in our area though, if popularity is a deal breaker for you.

GreatBigPolarBear · 05/07/2017 08:11

I love it but DH vetoed it on the grounds that he didn't like the 'claaargh' sound and my dad just kept referring to long distance Clara from pigeon street!

mygorgeousmilo · 05/07/2017 22:38

Greatbig yes! Long distance Claraaaaa - still love the name though Grin

Longdistance · 05/07/2017 22:56

Grin Grin Grin

TipTop333 · 05/07/2017 23:00

Love it
